The big three
Corals build their skeleton out of calcium, carbonate and magnesium, so a growing reef eats these three continuously. Test, then top back up to where you want them.
Reach for these when your alkalinity, calcium or magnesium has drifted from where you want it.

Trace elements
Eighteen more elements corals need in tiny amounts, for colour and resilience rather than bulk skeleton. Skimming, carbon and water changes strip them out faster than most tanks put them back, and you cannot test for most of them at home.
Reach for these when the big three are stable but colour has gone flat or pale.

Part A of the trace set. Iron, manganese and the metals behind pigment.

Coral food and colour
Corals get some of their energy from light and the rest from eating. Each of these targets something different: growth, colour, polyp extension or recovery.
Reach for these when corals are healthy but not growing, colouring or opening the way you want.
Amino
Free-form amino acids. The building blocks for tissue growth and deeper colour.
Anabolica
Peptides plus vitamins A, B, C, D and E. For growth and for corals recovering from a knock.
Saturation
A concentrated daily feed aimed at colour and feeding response in lean, high-light tanks.
Coral Swell
Triggers a feeding response and fatter polyp extension, so corals take in more of everything else.
Coral Blitz
A freeze-dried powdered food. Broadcast feed for the whole tank, not just corals.
Nutriboost
Soaks fish food in garlic, carotenoids and vitamins. For fish rather than corals.

Nitrate and phosphate
Nitrate and phosphate feed corals and nuisance algae alike, so both extremes cause trouble. Too high and you grow algae; too low and corals pale and stop growing. These move the numbers in either direction.
Reach for these when your nitrate or phosphate is too high, or bottomed out at zero.
Nitrate Reducer
Brings nitrate down by feeding the bacteria that consume it.
Phosphate Reducer
Iron based phosphate remover. Faster and gentler than lanthanum chloride.
Nitrate Increaser
Raises nitrate in tanks scrubbed too clean, where corals have gone pale.
