One pack recharges the AK Air Guard twice over: two activated carbon beds and two H11 HEPA membranes, which is both stages of the filter, twice.
The carbon takes out VOCs, fumes and organics, and it fills up whether or not anything visible has changed. The HEPA membrane behind it catches airborne spores, mould and bacteria. The carbon is the one protecting the other, so it is the one to change first if you are only changing one.
Four screws open the housing. The old media lift out, the new ones drop in, and the filter goes back inline. Nothing else in the block needs touching.
